In many companies today employee culture is touted as engaging, empowering and collaborating. They misguidingly use the buzzwords to attract talent as they have continuing turnover. When you dig below the surface, you will find not collaborating but maybe cooperating. People are going through the daily assignments, checking them off and leaving the office at the appropriate time. Their mantra is they worked hard. What you end up with is a company of loosely aligned employees headed for an environment of problems and even toward closing the doors, blaming everyone else and taking little responsibility. Successful companies instill collaboration to foster and encourage people to come together to dream of doing something great and then acting together to bring about that reality. Their mantra is we’re excited to be here and look toward growing together like a family.
