When we are in it for ourselves, the team is left to fend for itself and perhaps focus their energy on reaching the goal. Too often the team wanders without realizing it takes the collaboration of each member to bring out the finest performance. Key to success is a focus not only the director but each person on the team to make sure every moving part occurs at the right time. This focus requires leading with an eye on what matters: the experience of each giving of their best. Every day a new music note is added to the organization’s symphony. The right note only happens when it comes from within rather than pressed upon by the outside influences. The audience, the client, receives the best when you focus on improving the team through intentional effective collaboration.
From the Team Collaboration Series:
“If you want to lead the orchestra, you must turn your back on the crowd.” ~ Max Lucado
